On the brink of death! Came upon this lil guy a week ago, he's only 7 weeks or so old. He was dehydrated, gaunt, covered in fleas and barely breathing. I'm not the biggest squirrel fan but every creature deserves a chance and sometimes a helping hand. He's been bathed, rid of fleas, fed with a syringe, held and kept warm. One week later he's bright eyed, strong, active and very sweet. Fall born orphaned squirrels can not be released into the wild until spring. They have neither the skills, food stores, a warm nest or territory to call their own. Release would certainly mean death. I can't continue caring for him at the level he needs to thrive. Does anyone know of a kind soul who would love to have a lil friend to winter over? There are great online sites that offer tools and advice. He's a wonderful little guy, I simply can't devote the time, as I'm away on projects a lot. Please tag or DM anyone you think might have a lead for me. Thanks! See the video on my story, he's so cute!
