Be your own inspiration. Just freshly 26. I started running because of something someone said to me. Someone I once loved said told me I'd never run, that I would just waddle. I now know that says a lot more about them than about me. Fast forward almost 4 years, I was told after finishing Berlin that people I worked with doubted and had placed bets on if I would. I was constantly asked once I had done my first, if I was "still running" like you'd hang up your running shoes after a Marathon. And here I am. Almost 4 years of running in December. Nearly 3 Marathons down. 8 Half Marathon races (not to mention training runs) and thousands of kilometres run and done! Countless early mornings, missed social events, loss of friends who clearly weren't and introduction of friends who clearly are. Sweat, and no make up, and chaffed tights and boob sweat and tears and scrapes and bruises and success. So much more than I'd ever imagined. That feeling of crossing a finishing line after FORTY TWO POINT TWO KILOMETRES. It is enough to make a grown man weep. And they do. More than at any other point in their life. It grows you, changes you and moves you New York City Marathon has the motto this year of "IT WILL MOVE YOU" and it already has. Already being to NYC I know the people, their hospitality, generosity and just wonderful nature. I will be so so humbled to have you cheer me on and cry out to me as I view your city in a way on a select few do. And I will come back again and again to do this course, of that I have no doubt 🗽🇺🇸👟🏃💜
Of all races, this will be one of the most emotional & meaningful 26.2 of my life. On November 12, I will be running the Las Vegas @runrocknroll marathon as a commemoration of the @route91harvest shooting and to pay my respect to all those who lost their lives. Grateful to be alive. Grateful to be running and even more grateful for the support of my amazing friends who allow me to do this. Las Vegas, I'm coming back ❤️ #vegasstrong#countrystrong#livewithpassion #marathon #marathonlife #running #runnersofinstagram#instarunners#marathonmaniacs
It is not enough that we work hard to reach our goals we must continue to work hard to stay there or move up to the next level. So many times after we reach a major goal we get comfortable, we forget what it took to get there and start slipping back into our old habits. Stay Consistent!
🔥DAY 2🔥 - ⭐️Easy Pace Run ⭐️40mins ⭐️Each 10min block include 20sec Sprint - 📍Today took me into the hills on Cannes as well as trekking my way along the French Riviera coast line. It is fair to say that even though this may be a challenging 10 weeks coming up, it isn’t too difficult to be inspired to go out and run when I am surround by absolute beauty. - 📍With my legs still a little weary from yesterday due to having done NO recovery work on the foam roller (ooopppss) I went into today’s run feeling a little apprehensive. - 📍5mins into the run though and with the sun at my back warming me up and filling my body with joy, I had soon forgotten about my legs and was into my groove. When the first 20sec sprint block came up, I just kept telling myself....”It is only 20secs, it is only 20secs” - 📍Before I had time to even think about it, the 20secs was done and I was back into my cruise pace. All in all a great run and I feel relaxed and enjoyed some new roads to explore in the hills of this beautiful sea side town. - 📍Now to chill out, get some work done and make sure I do my foam roller work tonight or these calves are going to become soo tight I won’t be walking in a few weeks time. - 🤗❤️As always, should you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to drop them below❤️🤗
