Nope, this isn't a #GMC advertisement (although you can't deny how lovely the Acadia looks with this backdrop?) 😁
This was a lesson about time. Last week while my mother was visiting, we went canoeing at Emerald Lake. It was a beautiful afternoon, and when we returned to my vehicle, I threw my backpack in the trunk, and as the doors locked, I realized my keys were in the pack.
My initial reaction - I was pissed. I was angry at myself for locking the keys in the car. I was angry that I had no cell service to call OnStar for help. (Thankfully, we found a payphone and OnStar sent us a locksmith from Golden, only took him an hour to get to us!) Bottom line - for about 15 minutes, I was pissed off, and felt like we had no TIME to waste waiting around for a locksmith. What I realized later (and more so now, as I'm currently back to the rat race, working after hours as I usually do) - is that we were "stuck" in the most beautiful place on earth, on a gorgeous afternoon, together. On vacation. What could you possibly be pissed about?! We hung out, breathed the fresh mountain air, and enjoyed each other's company until our locksmith arrived. Then we continued on our adventure. What I would GIVE now to be back there, stuck on the side of that road with my favourite person, at Emerald Lake. It's funny how time flies, and how we react to things, and how we get frustrated with things we don't understand when perhaps one day later, we'll be grateful for it. .
